Mt. Fuji is the most typical mountain in Japan. The last big explosion occurred about three hundred years ago. I had driven my Toyota at the foot of Mt. Fuji and enjoyed myself at outdoor hot springs. Storatovolcanos are usually beautiful.
Shishimai is, as it were, Japanese lion dance.
It’s believed they will protect us from illness and misfortune.
The model of these dolls is due to the great Chinese Buddhist, Dharma. So, these are called the same name. Japanese pronunciation is “Daruma”. If you buy one of this, you have to do at first is painting one eye. And if you can make your dreams come true, you have to paint other eye.
Can you guess what it is? It looks like a kind of Japanese house. But it’s a lavatory. What fun!
I hear it’s called “October Sakura”. We can see its cherry blossoms from October to February.

Hello in 2010 :) How are you doing, Masa? How did you start another year of your life? Did someone surprise you with anything really nice? :)
Your volcano trip sounds fun, I have never seen a real volcano in my life - it must be special.
I am curious about Dharma eye painting - have you done it before? it is an interesting custom, it reminded me of some other customs related to New Years - the Spanish eating 12 grapes while the clock strikes 12 times. if you manage to eat all 12 - your dream comes true ;)
Masa? :) I hope you are well these days. I had a very busy week at work. Hope your 'kids' are doing fine and study well. I loved your greetings in Belarusian - so peculiar, 'cause almost no one knows this language...
Are you reading anything interesting from your books collection now?
